True story: Last week, I saw a woman with a sign asking for money at an intersection.  Usually, we keep some cash in the vehicle - 5 bucks - for these occasions. However, I was alone in the truck and was unsure if we had any cash.  I didn't want the woman to see me reaching into the console and coming up empty, which I would find embarrassing . I avoided her eye and proceeded ahead at the green light, assuring myself that I was justified. This morning, I had a conversation with my spouse about seeing this woman and my response. I had also recently had a conversation with someone that suggested that there was no reason to give this money, as most of these people are able-bodied and probably scamming you.  My husband and I decided that perhaps 1 dollar for the scammers and 5 bucks for people that seemed genuinely destitute and we agreed we should always give, if asked.  This afternoon, I went for my usual 'worship walk' with the dog.  I have felt compelled by the ...
