Jan. 31, 2024 - Revelation Poem - Final
This is the complete poem, minus one verse that I determined was too 'scary' for the bible study group I was sharing this with. This poem was a request from our leadership team, to conclude a seven week study of Revelations, in conjunction with the church ministry team that is teaching this book of the bible.
This is the final copy, it went through the 'refiner's fire' and some words may have changed, as Holy Spirit clarified what was intended.
I copied and pasted, the format didn't seem to jive...
Revelation, revelation; an unveiling of the truth,
The glory of God to hide a mystery,
Scour the pages; reflect on history,
He is the ballet; you are the dancer.
Listen to the music, it stirs the weary soul.
The final act in the written word,
Faithfully transcribed by beloved John.
A tremendous vision, seen and heard,
The Father speaks to his begotten son.
A blessing to those who studiously read, the stern warnings and promises given.
Who mark thy words and carefully heed, cast off the dead, and enjoin the living.
A vision for the future.
Receive in faith not mockery,
For the dead in Christ shall prosper.
Time is of the essence, so listen now, I say,
Gather all the souls you love,
Under a blanket of protection,
Bow your head and plead the blood, Receive His benediction.
The end of days is coming soon, the hour is not predicted,
Watch the stars, the sun, the moon - the actions of the wicked.
Countered by the prayerful.
A heavenly army on golden steeds,
Will perform a holy miracle.
Chariots of fire and eyes a blazing, the wicked are struck down,
A power so great and so amazing, they nary touch the ground.
A rescue mission like none before,
For Christ, himself, will come.
He’ll open the gate and shut the door,
And the enemy will be done.
He’ll rule and reign a thousand years, His disciples by His side,
The bridegroom cries ten thousand tears for his holy bride.
Return to Him and take your place,
For a crown you have been given.
Dress yourselves and wash your face,
No longer are you striven.
Cast your crowns! Sing God’s praise! Bend your knees before the throne. Your former self is but filthy rags, for you have been reborn.
Oh, sons and daughters, heed my cry,
From the Father to His children.
Believe the truth and not a lie,
On the BEDROCK you shall build on.
Within the heart of every Christian, lies the heart of the Father.
Inside this heart is a gold commission, a
proposal that is proffered.
Love thy neighbour as thyself,
Love God and no other.
Tell no lies and speak the truth,
For a foe may be your brother.
Take courage now, stay strong and stand! Your faith will be rewarded.
The enemy roams like a hungry lion, but his evil days are thwarted.
